The reason your business isn't where you want it to be
It’s not that you want to be yourself..
It’s the pressure you feel from needing to only portray a part of yourself online, because that’s what your audience knows you for.
You expect that they are expecting you to show up the same way.
And now you’ve built a business based off performance rather than authenticity.
But the way you made money in the first place, was through authenticity.
My client had some great months last year. New people finding her every single day, viral videos left right and centre, new email notifications on the hour of people signing up to her offer…
And unknowingly, she created rules around who she needed to be.
💭I have to post about this in order to go viral again
💭I will only continue to make sales when I talk about X
💭I feel bored by my own content & topics but I know it’s what people want
Noppppppe✋🏼
Here’s what you’re gonna do.
1. Learn to unattach meaning to numbers. You didn’t get started to feed an algorithm.
2. Look at where you place expectations on the people in your life (including yourself) to have to remain a certain way - what do you get out of it and how does it actually do you a disservice?
3. Learn to give yourself permission to change your mind. I know some people who would rather look like they’re living a good life, than to admit changes need to be made to their life…
Even to their own selves.
I shared thus quote with my client:
“Authenticity isn’t about never changing your mind, it’s about your willingness to change your mind even if people don’t agree”
Big PSA: whether you’re building your life in public, sharing content online about your passions or have a multi 6/7 figure personal brand
You’re going to evolve & change your mind about things. That’s exactly why we chose this crazy game of entrepreneurship.
And you’ll find that the more you give yourself to throw away the rules and layers of who you’re pretending to be for the sake of others…
The more you will make🤌🏼💰
